2nd Annual Cancer Biology Retreat
The 2nd Annual Cancer Biology Retreat was held on September 18-19, 2014, at the Towsley Center in the University of Michigan Medical Center.
This year's retreat featured Keynote Speaker Scott Lowe, Ph.D., Chair, Cancer Biology & Genetics Program, Chair, Geoffrey Been Cancer Research Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His presentation was titled "Tumor suppressor gene networks." Following the Keynote Presentation, students, faculty, postdoctoral fellowsand lab members gathered in the Towsley Lobby for a Poster Session & Reception. Cancer Biology students, faculty, and postdoctoral fellows then joined Keynote Speaker Dr. Scott Lowe for a dinner filled with delicious food and great conversation. Friday's events kicked off with breakfast with Dr. Lowe and Cancer Biology students, followed by research talks from students and postdoctoral fellows. The Retreat concluded with a panel discussion on "Questioning the Experts: The Future of Biomedical Research" featuring Dr.'s Scott Lowe, Judy Leopold, Jacques Nor, Diane Robins, and moderated by Dr. Mike Imperiale.
