Jae Eun Choi

Graduate Student

I graduated from Macalester College with a BA in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Upon graduation, I worked as a clinical research coordinator and statistician studying various pharmacologic agents at the University of California, San Francisco prior to entering medical school at the University of California, San Diego in 2013. During this time, my interest in surgical oncology became solidified during a summer research fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and inspired me to come to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor to learn how to design and carry out translational research as a future surgeon-scientist in the lab of Dr. Arul Chinnaiyan, MD, PhD through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Research Program. I am currently on a leave of absence from the UCSD School of Medicine to complete a PhD in the University of Michigan Cancer Biology Program.

Research Interests

I am interested in discovering therapeutic oncogenic targets and rational combination regimens using high throughput sequencing methods and in vivo models of the tumor microenvironment.
